The Harry A. Koch Co. 100 Year Anniversary Campaign

Not many companies get the chance to celebrate 100 years of business. As of 2016, The Harry A. Koch Co. is one of the few that can. Since opening its doors in 1916, The Harry A. Koch Co. has provided a full range of risk management and insurance products and services to clients across the globe. The trust and tenure of its diverse clientele has helped The Harry A. Koch Co. grow into one of the largest privately-owned, independent insurance brokerage firms in the country. Fortunately, Clark Creative Group caught wind of the milestone, and responded exactly how you would expect a band of marketing gurus to – by pitching a 100 year anniversary campaign. Sure enough, The Harry A. Koch Co. agreed that the celebration of this once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment was worthy of a little publicity. Although the campaign objective was clear, the execution would prove to be more complex.

The process began with a fresh logo, “The Harry A. Koch Co. – A Century of Service”, designed by Creative Director Daryl Anderson as a way to establish the campaign’s visual identity. Meanwhile, President Fred Clark and Head Video Editor Kevin Reiner were hard at work scripting, filming and editing a long-form video to detail the company’s deep history. The end result was a six minute spot featuring interviews from the executive team and board of directors, along with an abundance of historical photos and anecdotes.

Still, the campaign wasn’t complete just yet. Along the way, Clark Creative Group proposed an idea to develop personalized gifts to give to longstanding clientele. Close ties with the Hot Shops Art Center paved the way to a unique solution. The Harry A. Koch Co. commissioned handcrafted, limited-edition glass vases as a warm thank you to the ones who have helped make this century of success possible. In sum, this comprehensive campaign dedicated to The Harry A. Koch Co.’s century of service helped solidify the company’s reputation as an Omaha original.
